Shine Bright Leadership

Ms. Stefany, Executive Director of Shine Bright Tutoring and Operational Director of Shine Bright Extended Day and Summer Camp, is fantastic with the little ones and has mastered connecting with students to keep them actively engaged at all times. She graduated with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Clinical Laboratory Science from the University of Texas Medical Branch. She is pursuing dual Master's degrees in Business Administration, specializing in leadership, and Education, emphasizing curriculum and instruction.  With over 12 years of tutoring experience and 3 years in child care, she has provided support to students with a range of needs, including  dyslexia, learning disabilities, autism, emotional disturbance, ADHD,  traumatic brain injury, and speech impairment. Ms. Stefany has a passion for math and science, and she loves to make learning fun for her students. She enjoys innovative learning, geared toward holistic child development, and brings effective, instructional strategies, to the Shine Bright team.

Mrs. Gaten, Educational Consultant for Shine Bright Tutoring, has 50 years of experience in education. She graduated with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Elementary Education from Texas Southern University. She holds certifications in Elementary Grades 1-8 and Pre-K-KG. Mrs. Gaten is a retired Master Teacher and Reading Interventionist. She brings a wealth of knowledge and the "old-school" approach to the Shine Bright team. Mrs. Gaten, known to the kids as "Mrs. Dear", is our "Phonics Guru" as she is highly-skilled at teaching children how to read. Passionate about improving academic achievement of students, she trains staff on how to teach decoding and reading fluency. Additionally, Mrs. Gaten has a deep understanding of how students learn and a special gift for motivating students. She stresses the importance of creating and maintaining a positive learning environment for all students, regardless of academic and behavioral challenges.
